How much is Mounjaro in the UK?

Mounjaro starts from £139.00 at Slinic for the 2.5 mg pen. Prices rise with strength, reaching £285.00 for the 15 mg pen. Delivery is £4.99 per order, and each pen contains four once-weekly doses. Treatment is subject to eligibility and prescriber approval.

How to identify the cheapest Mounjaro option

The lowest figure on any provider’s page is rarely the figure you end up paying. Whether an advertised price is genuinely the cheapest option depends on the repeat price, the strength you eventually use, what is included and how long you remain on treatment.

Across the UK private market, advertised starting figures range widely. Some providers publish a standard price similar to or below that; others advertise a lower figure that applies to a first order, requires a discount code, or forms part of a monthly subscription that may exclude needles or delivery. None of that is dishonest in itself, but it does mean the number on a homepage is frequently not the number you will pay from month two onwards.

What does ‘cheapest Mounjaro’ actually mean?

Nine different numbers get described as the price of Mounjaro, and they are not interchangeable. Knowing which one you are looking at is most of the work.

A worked example

Suppose Provider A advertises £119 for a first order and Provider B publishes £139 as a standard price at 2.5 mg. Provider A looks £20 cheaper.

Now suppose Provider A’s standard price from month two is £189 at 5 mg and £269 at 10 mg, with needles at £9 a pack and delivery at £5.95. Provider B is £165 at 5 mg and £255 at 10 mg with needles included and delivery at £4.99.

Over a year settling at 10 mg, the £20 advantage in month one is reversed several times over by month four. That is not a criticism of introductory pricing — it is a well-established and entirely legal way to structure an offer. It simply means the headline is answering a different question from the one you are asking.

UK Mounjaro provider price comparison

Private Mounjaro pricing in the UK changes frequently, and several providers structure their pricing so the advertised figure applies to a first order, requires a code, or forms part of a subscription. Publishing a competitor’s price without verifying it on the day risks being wrong in either direction, which helps nobody.

The table below shows publicly displayed standard prices, checked on providers’ own websites on 3 August 2026. Introductory offers, discount codes and plan commitments are deliberately excluded, because a promotional figure and a standard repeat price answer different questions.

Why is Slinic’s price lower?

A fair question after a table like that, and the answer is structural rather than clever. Every regulated UK provider buys the same licensed medicine through the same authorised supply chain, so a price difference is almost never about the medicine. It is about what else the price is carrying.

None of this makes a lower price automatically the right choice. It does mean the difference is explainable, which is worth more than a headline figure you cannot account for.

The 2.5 mg strength is the treatment-initiation dose and is used for the first four weeks to help the body adjust before any clinically appropriate increase. Because everybody starts here, it is the dose most heavily discounted across the market — and the one where an advertised price is most likely to be a first-order offer rather than a standard rate. If you find a lower 2.5 mg figure, check what the same provider charges at 5 mg and 10 mg before drawing a conclusion.

Cheapest Mounjaro 5 mg UK

£165.00 per pen · £169.99 with delivery · approximately £42.50 per weekly injection.

A licensed maintenance dose, not merely a step on the way to something higher. Some people stay at 5 mg for the whole of their treatment because it is producing a good result and they tolerate it well, and your prescriber may see no reason to move if that is the case. If that turns out to be you, this is the number that determines your annual cost — twelve months here is £2,039.88 including delivery.

A titration step between the 5 mg and 10 mg maintenance doses. Because it is a transitional strength, fewer people remain on it long term, and it is worth checking whether a provider quoting a low subscription figure charges the same at this strength as at 5 mg.

A licensed maintenance dose and a common settling point. If your response and tolerability are good here, your prescriber may see no reason to go further — a decision made on clinical grounds, though it also happens to cost £360 a year less than remaining at 15 mg.

The maximum licensed strength. Reaching it is not a goal of treatment and not every patient needs it. Where a provider charges a flat subscription rate regardless of dose, this is the strength at which that model tends to look most favourable — which is another reason to compare at the strength you expect to reach rather than the one you start on.

First-order discounts versus fixed prices

Introductory pricing is common across the UK market and there is nothing wrong with it. It exists because acquiring a new patient costs money, and a lower first order is a straightforward way to offset that. The problem is not the offer — it is comparing an offer against a standard price as though they were the same kind of number.

What to work out before you accept an introductory price

• What the standard price is at the same strength once the offer ends
• What the standard price is at the strength you expect to reach
• Whether the offer requires a code, and whether it applies again at renewal
• Whether accepting it commits you to a minimum number of orders
• What six and twelve months cost including the offer month

If those numbers still favour the provider offering the discount, take it. Introductory pricing is only a problem when it is mistaken for the permanent price.

Subscription versus pay-per-order: which costs less?

Both models are widely used by regulated UK providers, and neither is inherently better. They suit different people.

Slinic operates a pay-per-order model. You order the strength you have been prescribed, when you need it. If you pause, you simply do not place the next order.

Which is cheaper

It depends on your maintenance strength and how long you stay on treatment. A flat monthly subscription is relatively expensive during the early low-dose months and relatively good value at the highest strength. Dose-based pricing is the reverse. Somebody who settles at 5 mg is in a very different position from somebody who reaches 15 mg within six months.

Run the twelve-month total under both models at your likely maintenance strength, then ask what each costs if you need to stop at month three. Those two numbers together answer the question properly.

Is Wegovy cheaper than Mounjaro?

At Slinic, yes, at every stage of treatment. Whether it is the right choice for you is a separate question, and not one that price should settle on its own.

A twelve-month course escalating to the 2.4 mg Wegovy maintenance dose comes to £2,224.76 including delivery, compared with £3,113.88 for the illustrated Mounjaro pathway reaching 15 mg — a difference of £889.12.

Can you get Mounjaro on the NHS?

Yes for some people, but access is considerably narrower than the medicine’s licence, and four separate things get conflated constantly.

The phased rollout

NICE recommended tirzepatide for weight management in TA1026 in December 2024. NHS England subsequently applied a funding variation, allowing a phased implementation across specialist weight management services and primary care rather than immediate universal access. In the first primary-care cohort, NHS England has stated that access is initially for people with a BMI of 40 or more, adjusted for ethnicity, who have been diagnosed with four of the listed weight-related health problems. Cohorts widen sequentially, and the guidance was reviewed in April 2026. Local implementation varies, which is why availability differs considerably by area.

How to check a Mounjaro provider is legitimate

Price is the last thing to compare, not the first. Work through this before you look at any figure.

LegitScript certification is a useful additional signal, but it is a private certification scheme rather than UK regulation. GPhC registration is the statutory requirement and is the one that matters most.

Very cheap Mounjaro from social media and unregulated sellers

Demand for these medicines has created a market outside the regulated supply chain. The MHRA has taken enforcement action against falsified and unlicensed weight-loss injections entering the UK, and has issued public warnings about buying them from unregulated sources7.

Social media marketplaces, messaging apps and group listings are not legal supply routes for prescription medicines in the UK. If you have already used a product bought outside that route, speak to a pharmacist or your GP; if you have symptoms that concern you, contact NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency. Suspected side effects can be reported through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme10.

Switching your Mounjaro provider to Slinic

Transferring is common and does not necessarily mean starting the titration again — but it is a clinical decision rather than an administrative one.

What you will be asked for

• Your current strength and how long you have been on it
• The date of your most recent dose
• Evidence of current treatment — a dispensing label, prescription record, letter from your previous provider or order history
• How you have tolerated treatment and any side effects
• Your current medicines and full medical history
• Weight verification as part of the assessment

What happens next

The prescriber will decide whether it is safe to continue the same strength, reduce the strength or restart titration based on the treatment gap, the evidence supplied, tolerability and clinical history. A prolonged break in particular may mean stepping back, because tolerance reduces during a gap and returning directly to a previous strength can produce markedly worse side effects than the first time round.

You do not need a letter of release from your previous provider, and you do not need an NHS referral. Mounjaro delivery and storage

Delivery is £4.99 per order. Dispatch follows clinical approval and is subject to stock, identity verification and courier cut-off times. Treatment is dispatched in insulated packaging designed for medicine delivery, and sent on a tracked service.

When your order arrives

• Open it promptly and refrigerate the pen as directed in the patient information leaflet supplied with your medicine
• Do not freeze it, and do not use a pen that has been frozen at any point
• Inspect the pen — do not use it if the liquid is discoloured or contains particles, or if the pen appears damaged
• Store it in the original carton to protect it from light
• Never store the pen with a needle attached
• Follow the storage temperatures and in-use period stated in your current UK patient information leaflet rather than any figure quoted elsewhere

If a delivery is delayed, or the packaging appears compromised on arrival, contact Slinic before using the medicine rather than using it and hoping.

Travelling

Carry the pen in hand luggage rather than the hold, use a cool bag with a temperature pack without the pen touching the pack directly, take a travel sharps container and check disposal arrangements at your destination. Used needles should be placed immediately into an appropriate sharps container and disposed of through an approved local route.

Who may be eligible for private Mounjaro?

Private eligibility follows the terms of the UK licence and then narrows according to each provider’s clinical governance. Broadly, adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or 27 to under 30 with at least one weight-related condition, may be considered — with lower thresholds commonly applied for some ethnic backgrounds, in line with NICE guidance on assessing BMI2. Your prescriber will apply the criteria that fit your individual assessment.

Meeting a BMI threshold does not mean treatment is appropriate. A full assessment covers your medical history, every medicine you take, pregnancy status and plans, any history of disordered eating and any current GLP-1 treatment. A prescriber can decline, and does — because of your history, because a symptom needs investigating first, or because another treatment would be safer. Who should not use Mounjaro?

Contraindication

Tirzepatide must not be used by anyone with known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients in the product.

Situations requiring particular caution

• A history of pancreatitis, or symptoms suggestive of it during treatment
• Severe gastrointestinal disease, including gastroparesis, since gastric emptying is slowed
• Diabetic retinopathy, where rapid improvement in glycaemic control has been associated with temporary worsening
• Dehydration risk and kidney function, particularly after a period of vomiting or diarrhoea
• Planned surgery or any procedure involving sedation or anaesthesia — tell your surgical and anaesthetic team well in advance
• Gallbladder disease, since rapid weight loss from any cause increases gallstone risk

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and interactions

Tirzepatide is not recommended in pregnancy. If you are planning to conceive, discuss timing with your prescriber in advance, and discuss breastfeeding before starting. Weight reduction can also restore ovulation in people who were not previously ovulating, so contraception is worth planning before your first dose rather than after.

Risk of low blood sugar rises substantially when tirzepatide is used alongside insulin or a sulfonylurea, and those doses may need adjusting by the clinician managing your diabetes. Delayed gastric emptying can affect the absorption of some oral medicines. Tirzepatide should not be used at the same time as another GLP-1 receptor agonist or another tirzepatide-containing medicine.
